What’s the Best Tree Stand Backpack You’ve Used?

I’m looking for recommendations on tree stand backpacks that you all have had great experiences with. I’ve done a bit of research, but there’s a lot out there, and I want to make sure my choice is spot on. Here are some features I’m considering:

  • Quietness: I need something that won’t make noise when I move.
  • Durability: It has to stand up to the weather and rough conditions.
  • Comfort: I’ll be carrying my gear for extended periods, so comfort is key.
  • Storage Options: Pockets for organizing gear, especially for cold weather layers, would be a big plus.

If you’ve found a backpack that checks these boxes or know of brands to avoid, I would really appreciate your input. What’s your go-to backpack for simulating effective tree stand hunting? Any advice you have would be really helpful!

I’ve tried a few tree stand backpacks over the years. I find that comfort and weight distribution are key. Look for one with padded shoulder straps and a hip belt for those long hikes.

Absolutely! I also think storage capacity matters a lot. It’s frustrating when your gear doesn’t fit properly. I’ve used one with multiple compartments which helped keep me organized.

Comfort is definitely crucial. I used one from XYZ brand that had breathable material, which was a lifesaver on hot days! It kept me cool and dry.

I completely agree! I found a backpack that has adjustable straps which made all the difference in maintaining comfort throughout the day.

Weight is a huge factor for me. I always aim for something under 3 pounds. It makes such a difference when you have to hike to your spot!

Yes! Also, having a backpack that stands upright is beneficial. I’ve had ones that fall over and make it impossible to access gear quickly.

Material durability is essential too. I once had a backpack tear on a thorny bush. Make sure you look for rip-stop nylon or similar materials.

Good point! I’ll add that water-resistance is another feature to consider, especially if you’re hunting in wet conditions. You never know when it might rain!

I love the mesh pockets some backpacks have. They give quick access to items like calls or snacks without digging around too much.

Exactly! I also appreciate having a hydration sleeve in my pack. Staying hydrated is key when you’re out there for hours!

Does anyone have experience with backpacks that have a built-in frame? It seems like that could help spread out the weight.

I’ve tried one, and it was great! A framed pack definitely provided more structure and comfort. But they can be a bit heavier.

Humor aside, I tried carrying everything in my pockets once. Let’s just say it was a less than graceful trip to my stand. A good backpack is worth the investment!

Anyone else ever forget their essentials because they were packed poorly? I had a backpack with zippers that wouldn’t open in the cold! That was a rough day.

I’ve always found neat storage makes prepping for the hunt easier. I often reflect on those trips where all my gear was in a jumbled mess… never again!

I’m looking for a good tree stand backpack too! I’ve heard great things about the Tenzing TZ 1220. It’s lightweight and has plenty of storage for all your gear.

I’ve used the Tenzing TZ 1220 for a few seasons now, and I agree! The comfort and organization are top-notch. Definitely worth considering.

I’ve always been a fan of the Hunter Safety System backpacks. They fit well, are durable, and can hold a good amount of gear without being bulky.

HSH packs are solid! I find they’re also great for keeping you organized when you’re in a tree for hours.
