Thoughts on the Remington 700 Magpul Enhanced for Hunting?

I’m considering investing in the Remington 700 Magpul Enhanced for my next hunting season, but I’d love to get some feedback from anyone who has experience with it. Here are some specific areas I’m curious about:

Performance

  • How does the rifle perform in various weather conditions?
  • Is it reliable for long-range shots, especially in the field?

Features

  • What are your thoughts on the Magpul stock? Is it comfortable for extended periods of use?
  • Are there any specific features of the rifle that you find stand out during actual hunts?

Suitability

  • Would you say it’s a good choice for beginners, or is it more geared toward experienced shooters?
  • How does it compare with other rifles in the same category?

Balancing Weight and Ease of Use

  • As someone who often hunts in remote areas, I’m concerned about the weight. Is this rifle manageable for long hikes?

I appreciate any insights or personal experiences you can share! Looking forward to your feedback!

Does anyone have experience comparing it with something like the Tikka T3? I’m curious how the ergonomics stack up.

I’ve used both, and while the Tikka has a smoother action, the Remington’s accuracy is tough to beat.

Honestly, I found the Remington to be a bit heavy for my taste. If you’re hiking a lot, consider that!

That’s true, but the weight does help with stability when shooting. I guess it depends on your hunting style!

With a proper muzzle brake, the recoil is surprisingly manageable though. It’s really nice for follow-up shots.

Anyone else use the Magpul bipod with it? I find it enhances stability even more during precision shots.

Absolutely! The bipod makes a huge difference in field conditions. I’ve had some great success using it.

The customization options with the Remington are a huge plus. You can really tailor it to your needs!

Exactly! You can swap out stocks and barrels, which is great for adapting to different hunting scenarios.

Has anyone experienced any issues with the bolt action? Heard mixed reviews on that.

I had a slight hitch in mine initially, but after a good cleaning, it’s been smooth ever since. Just needs some TLC! Haha.

I love this thread! It’s been really informative. I’m planning on purchasing one soon!

Does anyone have experience with different barrel lengths for hunting? I feel like there’s a trade-off between accuracy and mobility that needs to be considered.

Definitely! The 20" barrel is a great choice for most hunting scenarios. It’s compact while still providing decent velocity. I’ve used it successfully for deer hunting!

I’m curious about optics. What’s everyone’s favorite scopes for the 700 Magpul Enhanced? I’ve been eyeing some options but can’t decide.
