With the hunting season around the corner, I’ve been doing some research on the best footwear to keep my feet comfortable and protected during those long days in the field. I’ve come across the Red Wing Hunting Boots, and I wanted to tap into this community for some insights.
Why Red Wing?
I’ve heard great things about Red Wing boots in general—their reputation for durability and comfort seems to be a big draw. However, I have some specific questions:
Model Recommendations: Are there particular models within the Red Wing hunting boot range that stand out?
Comfort: How do they feel during extended wear?
Water Resistance: Can anyone speak to their performance in wet conditions?
Sizing: Do they run true to size, or should I order a size up or down?
Your Thoughts?
If you’ve owned a pair or have experience with them, please share your thoughts! I’m interested in hearing about your personal experiences—what do you like or dislike about them?
Additionally, if there are any alternatives from Irish Setter or other brands that you believe compete with Red Wing, I’d love to hear about those, too. Looking for something that can handle the rugged terrain and keep me comfy while hunting.
Thanks in advance for your help, everyone! Your feedback is invaluable as I make this purchasing decision.
Let’s Talk Hunting Boots!
I’m excited to hear from you all! Let’s discuss what footwear has made a difference in your hunting experiences and why.
I’ve been using Red Wing hunting boots for years. The leather is top-notch and holds up well against wet conditions. I’ve hunted in the rain and stayed completely dry.
Absolutely! I’ve climbed rocky trails and they provide excellent traction. The soles are designed to grip different surfaces efficiently, even in rain.
I’ve been using Red Wing hunting boots for the last two seasons, and I can say they’re pretty comfy even after long hours in the field. The cushioning really helps during those long treks!
Sizing can definitely vary. I usually recommend going a half size down. The break-in period was longer than I expected, but they got super comfortable after a few hikes.
