Looking for Recommendations: Bino Harness with Gun Holster?

I’ve been on the hunt for a bino harness that also has a gun holster feature, and I’m hoping to get some recommendations from fellow enthusiasts here!

Why am I looking for this combo?

As someone who frequently goes hunting and enjoys wildlife observation, I find it cumbersome to carry both binoculars and a firearm separately. Having a harness that integrates a gun holster would streamline my pack and make accessing my gear much easier.

What I’m looking for:

  • Comfort: I need a harness that allows for easy movement and doesn’t weigh me down, especially during long treks.
  • Durability: Given the outdoor conditions I often find myself in, I need something that’s rugged and can withstand the elements.
  • Accessibility: Quick access to both the binoculars and firearm is essential while I’m in the field.
  • Compatibility: It would be great if there are options that fit a variety of firearm models.

Discussion Points:

  • Have you tried any specific models that work well for these purposes?
  • Are there any brands that you would recommend or suggest avoiding?
  • I’d love to hear about your experiences, especially if you’ve used a bino harness with a gun holster in the field!

Thanks in advance for your input. I’m eager to hear your thoughts and hopefully find a solution that enhances my outdoor experience!

I recently got a bino harness with a gun holster and the size was crucial for me. It needs to fit snugly but not restrict movement, especially while hunting.

Absolutely! Comfort is key too. I found that padded straps make a big difference during long hikes.

Material matters as well. Look for something durable and water-resistant if you are out in the rain.

Good point! A harness made from breathable material is great for warmer weather activities like bird watching.

Usability is essential! If you’re switching between binoculars and a rifle, quick access to both is crucial.

Right! I found a model that lets me detach my binos quickly, which is a game-changer.

It’s also worth considering weight distribution. A good harness should balance the weight of the bino and gun evenly for comfort.

Agreed! I took mine out for a weekend hunting trip, and it felt like a breeze carrying everything.

I’ve used mine for bird watching and it worked wonderfully. The straps kept everything secure while I moved around.

I can’t help but chuckle as I think about the time I accidentally jostled my binoculars out while scrambling up a hill. It was a bad day for optics!

Oh no! I think we all have those days. Make sure your harness has a secure retention system.

I’ve been using the Sitka Gear Bino Harness, and it fits my rifle perfectly. The versatility is impressive, making it great for both birdwatching and hunting.

That sounds solid! I’m considering it for my shotgun as well. How do you find access to your gear when you’re on the move?

I have a Badlands Bino Harness, and I love how adjustable it is. It holds my lightweight rifle well but isn’t the best for a heavier model. Any suggestions on alternatives?

For heavier guns, the Kuiu Bino Harness might work better. It has robust straps that distribute the weight nicely.

I’ve had a great experience with the Outdoor Products Bino Harness. It fits my rifle snugly, and the side pockets are just the right size for extra ammo.

That sounds fantastic! Does it accommodate quick access? Sometimes I struggle with that on the trail.
