CMMG .22 Conversion Kit Reviews - What Do You Think?

Looking for Your Feedback on the CMMG .22 Conversion Kit

I’ve been considering getting a CMMG .22 conversion kit for my AR-style rifle, and I would love to hear from those of you who have experience with it. Specifically, I’m interested in its performance, reliability, and overall usability for outdoor shooting activities.

Things I’m Curious About:

  • Performance: How does it shoot in terms of accuracy? Are there any issues with cycling or feeding?
  • Reliability: Have you faced any jams or malfunctions during your sessions? How often do you have to clean it compared to a regular .22 rifle?
  • Cost-Effectiveness: Is it worth it for practicing and training? I’m looking for something that would help me save on ammo costs while still allowing me to enjoy outdoor shooting.
  • Usage: How well does it work for small game hunting or just target practice? Any specific recommendations or experiences?

I’ve had the CMMG .22 conversion kit for about a year now. The accuracy is impressive for the price. I can consistently hit targets at 50 yards without much effort.

That sounds great! I’ve been hesitant to switch to .22 due to concerns about reliability. How has yours held up in that regard?

Reliability has been solid for me as well. I haven’t had any major jams or issues, even after hundreds of rounds. It’s great for training without breaking the bank!

That’s good to hear! How does it perform in different weather conditions? I’m in a humid area and worried about the effects on performance.

I’ve shot it in rain and heat, and it still performs well. It’s easy to clean, which helps prevent issues from humidity. No complaints here!

That’s encouraging! What about accuracy at longer ranges? Is it still effective past 100 yards?

Honestly, I find it starts to drop off a bit around that distance. It’s more of a close quarters option. But for under 100 yards, I’m very satisfied!

I used mine at a tactical match, and while it’s not the best for precision shooting at long range, for drills and fast shooting, it’s excellent!

Good to know! Crazy to think .22 can compete in a tactical setting. Any thoughts on the cost factor? Is it worth the investment?

Absolutely! It saves so much on ammo costs, which makes it worth it alone. Plus, it makes for great practice time without worrying about spending too much.

That’s perfect for someone like me who loves to shoot often! How does it handle different brands of .22 ammo?

I’ve found it works well with most brands. Some bulk packs had a few misfeeds, but generally speaking, it digests everything pretty reliably.

Now I’m curious – do you think the barrel needs upgrading to get the best out of the kit? I’ve been reading mixed reviews.

For the most part, I think the stock barrel is fine, especially for just plinking. Upgrading could improve consistency, but isn’t necessary for fun shooting.

It’s all about what you’re aiming for. If you want to tighten groups at further distances, it might be a good idea. Otherwise, the kit is a blast as it is!

Trying to juggle price vs performance can be tough, especially in this market! But I love the versatility it offers, even if I don’t upgrade.

I’ve been thinking about getting the CMMG .22 conversion kit for my AR-15. How easy is it to install? I’ve heard mixed reviews.

Installation is pretty straightforward! It took me about 10 minutes, and I didn’t need any special tools. Just make sure to follow the manual closely!
