Anyone tried the Savage 110 Ultralight Elite Rifle? Looking for a review!

Getting Feedback on the Savage 110 Ultralight Elite Rifle

I’ve been diving deep into options for a new hunting rifle and the Savage 110 Ultralight Elite has caught my eye. Its reputation for being lightweight and well-suited for various terrains, particularly high altitudes and cold weather, makes it an appealing choice for outdoor activities.

Features and Benefits

I’ve come across several features that stand out:

  • Weight: Coming in at just over 6 pounds, it’s designed for those who don’t want to be weighed down during long treks.
  • Precision: The reviews highlight its accuracy, especially over distance. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had success with longer shots.
  • Durability: I’ve seen that it’s built to withstand the elements, but how does it hold up in real-world hunting scenarios?

Questions I Have

  • Real-World Performance: Has anyone used this rifle in diverse conditions? How does it perform in snow or rain?
  • Comparisons: How does it stack up against other similar rifles like the Tikka T3 or Remington 700?
  • Modifications: Have any of you added scopes or other accessories that you found beneficial?

Conclusion

I’m eager to get insights from fellow hunters who have experience with the Savage 110 Ultralight Elite. Any feedback, reviews, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to your thoughts!

I’ve had the Savage 110 Ultralight Elite for about six months now. The accuracy is phenomenal! I’ve been consistently hitting 1 MOA at 100 yards with different ammo types, but I’m especially impressed with Hornady match grade rounds.

That’s awesome to hear! I’ve been considering which ammo to use as well. Do you happen to have a favorite for long-range shooting?

I’ve primarily used Hornady and Federal. Both performed well, but I noticed better tightness with the Hornady ELD-X rounds. What enhancements have you guys made? I added a muzzle brake which helped reduce recoil significantly.

I haven’t done any enhancements yet, but that muzzle brake sounds like a solid idea. The rifle is so light that it kicks a bit more than expected. Just curious, is it a hassle to install?

Not at all! It was pretty straightforward. Just ensure you have the right tools. By the way, have you noticed how it performs with lighter bullets? I’m thinking of trying some 140 grain options.

I’ve tried 130 grains, and they shot well! It’s surprisingly forgiving with different weights. The groupings remained tight even with a lighter load.

That’s great feedback! I’m really interested in the versatility of this rifle. Has anyone tried it in different weather conditions? I plan to use it in both warm and cold climates for hunting.

I’ve used it in both warm and cold. It performed flawlessly in both. Just make sure you keep it clean after a day out. Can’t wait to see how it holds up during my winter hunt.

Now I’m really pumped for hunting season! Has anyone experienced issues with the magazine? I’ve read conflicting reviews.

I’ve had some trouble with mine. It sometimes doesn’t feed well with certain rounds. However, a quick polish on the feed ramp helped a lot. Still love the rifle though!

I had the same issue initially, but experimenting with different manufacturers seemed to fix it for me. So it might just be the ammo.

Haha, that’s hilarious! But true; finding the right ammo is key! I’m contemplating a new scope. Any suggestions for an upgrade that matches well with the Savage?

You know, it’s funny how picky these rifles can be about ammo! I jokingly say it’s more like a rifle diva. Still, I can’t quit my 110; it’s a keeper!

I recommend looking into Vortex or Leupold. They’ve both paired well with mine. I got a Vortex Razor and it really brought my shooting up a notch! Highly recommend it.

Solid choice! I’ve heard so many rave reviews about Vortex. Just curious, does it handle well in lower light conditions?

Yes, it handle low light remarkably! I’m really impressed with its clarity. In fact, I think it truly elevates the Savage 110 experience. No regrets on my purchase!

I’ve had the Savage 110 Ultralight Elite for a few months now and I love how lightweight it is! Makes carrying it on hikes so much easier.

That sounds great! How does it perform when you’re actually shooting it? Any recoil issues?

The lightweight design is definitely a double-edged sword. While it’s great for carrying, I found it less stable on longer shots compared to my heavier rifle.
