Anyone tried the Crispi Briksdal MTN GTX for hiking?

I’ve been looking into getting a new pair of hiking boots, and the Crispi Briksdal MTN GTX has caught my eye. I’m particularly interested in its performance during long treks, especially in wet conditions since it features Gore-Tex technology.

Key Features:

  • Waterproofing: How effective is the Gore-Tex lining? Does it keep your feet dry in heavy rain or river crossings?
  • Comfort & Fit: How does the boot feel during extended use?
  • Traction: I’ve read that the outsole offers good grip, but does it hold up on rocky terrains?

Questions:

  1. Durability: How have they held up after several hikes? Any wear and tear issues?
  2. Break-in Period: Did you find them comfortable straight out of the box, or was there a break-in period?
  3. Temperature Management: How do they perform in terms of breathability? Are your feet overheating during warm hikes?

I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have for potential buyers. I’m eager to make a good decision and invest in a reliable pair of boots for my upcoming adventures. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I’ve used the Crispi Briksdal MTN GTX on rocky trails, and they held up really well. The grip was impressive, and the stability gave me confidence on uneven surfaces.

That’s great to hear! I mostly hike on muddy paths, and I’m curious if they perform just as well in slippery conditions. Anyone tried them out in the mud?

I took these boots out in muddy conditions last week. They did slip a bit at first, but once I adapted my footing, they performed decently. Comfort-wise, they felt great, even after hours of hiking!

That’s interesting. I had a hard time with my old boots in mud, so it’s good to know that Briksdals can improve with a bit of practice. What about their performance in snow?

I’ve worn them in lighter snowy conditions, and they delivered pretty well! The waterproofing was effective, but I’d prefer more insulation for colder conditions. Definitely good for slush!

Thanks for sharing! Comfort is key for me—did you find them comfortable during longer hikes in the snow?

For me, comfort was a highlight. I hiked for over 10 miles, and my feet never felt sore. They also have a solid ankle support feature, which is great on rugged terrain.

That’s good to hear! I’ve tried brands that claimed to be comfortable but weren’t. Do you feel they handle heavy packs well in steep areas?

Absolutely! The support really shines when carrying heavy loads uphill. It’s like they were built for tough climbs. Just don’t expect them to be lightweight for pack-and-go hikes.

If they were lightweight, they might just float away! Good to hear they manage weight well. Any drawbacks to consider?

The only downside for me is the break-in period. They felt a bit stiff initially, but after a few hikes, they became much more flexible. Just keep that in mind!

I’ve been using the Crispi Briksdal MTN GTX for a few months now. I found them to be true to size with a solid fit. I usually wear a size 10, and they fit perfectly with enough room for thicker socks.

That’s great to hear! I’m a size 9, but I have wide feet. Do you think they would accommodate width well?

I have narrow feet, and I found the boots fit quite snug. They are well-structured, which might help with support but may not work for wider feet. It’s best to try them on if you can.

That’s really helpful! I’m concerned about heel slip. Any thoughts on that?

I had a tiny bit of heel slip at first, but after breaking them in, it wasn’t an issue. They really flex well with your movements during hikes. Just give them some time!

Just a heads up, the boots can feel quite stiff initially. My friend had issues with fit since he has wide feet. He ended up going a half size up for comfort. Definitely worth trying on if you’re unsure.

Flex is what I need! I’m planning a longer hike soon. Will they give good support for all-day wear?

Absolutely! I’ve worn them for 10-hour hiking days and my feet felt great. As long as you get the right size for your foot type, you should be just fine.
