The .25-06 Remington is excellent for medium-sized game like deer. It offers great ballistics with minimal recoil. It’s one of my favorites for this type of hunting.

I agree! The .25-06 is really versatile. I’ve also had success with the .25 ACP for small game like rabbits. It can be surprisingly effective in close range.

Don’t forget about the .25 WSSM, especially for varmint hunting. It’s fast and accurate, making it a great choice for smaller pests.

That’s a good point! The .25 WSSM does have impressive velocity. How does it perform in terms of drop compared to the .25-06?

The drop is noticeable, but the .25 WSSM compensates with speed. For shots up to 300 yards, it can outperform the .25-06 in certain conditions.

I feel like the .25-06 has a better balance overall. It’s more versatile; you can use it for larger games like antelope and not just varmints.

Exactly! Plus, it’s easier to find ammo for the .25-06. What do you all think about the .25-20 for small game?

Good question, Katherine! The .25-20 is great for small game and has very low recoil. It’s also an excellent option for new hunters!

I hear that a lot of people underestimate it. It’s a perfect starter cartridge!

But don’t you think someone might favor a .22 LR for small game over the .25-20? It’s cheaper and widely available.

That’s true, but the .25-20 has more stopping power. It really depends on the size of the game.

Has anyone ever hunted with the .25 Grendel? I’ve heard it has some impressive ballistics, but I can’t find much info.

I’ve used the .25 Grendel and it performs well in stability and accuracy. It’s a bit overlooked but suitable for medium game under the right conditions.

Sounds promising! I might give it a try for my next trip. What about reloading options for these cartridges?

For reloaders, .25 caliber has a good selection of bullets. The .25-06 can be tailored with various bullet weights, making it ideal for different game.

I’m new to hunting with a .25 caliber rifle. Any tips on which models to consider? I want something reliable and easy to handle.

You might want to check out the Browning X-Bolt series. It’s user-friendly and has great accuracy for beginners.

I second the Browning X-Bolt! It’s got a smooth action and the adjustable trigger is a nice touch. Perfect for newcomers!

Don’t forget about the features! Look for something lightweight with a good recoil pad. It makes a big difference!
