Seeking Feedback on the Ruger Super Redhawk .22 Hornet
I’m considering getting a Ruger Super Redhawk chambered in .22 Hornet and would love to hear from anyone who has experience with it. I’m particularly interested in how it performs for small game hunting and target shooting.
Here are a few things I’m curious about:
Accuracy: How does it fare in terms of precision for both hunting and range shooting?
Recoil: I’ve heard that the .22 Hornet has minimal recoil. Does this make it easier to handle, especially for new shooters?
Best uses: What type of small game have you been successful hunting with it? Any favorite shooting locations?
Accessories: Are there any essential accessories or modifications you’d recommend for this firearm?
I’d appreciate any tips or reviews from more experienced users. Feel free to share your experiences, stories, or any insights that would help in my decision-making process. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
I’ve had the Ruger Super Redhawk in .22 Hornet for a few months now. The accuracy is impressive, particularly at longer distances. I’ve managed tight groups at the range!
Recoil is surprisingly mild! It’s a pleasant shooting experience, making it fun for both beginners and seasoned shooters alike. No sore wrists after a session.
I’ve had my Ruger Super Redhawk in .22 Hornet for a couple of years now, and it’s a beast! The build quality is exceptional, rivaling other revolvers like the Smith & Wesson Model 617. It’s super reliable and accurate for small game hunting.
I agree! The 617 is great but I prefer the Ruger’s heft and grip. It feels more solid in the hand, which gives great control! Anyone else noticed this difference?
I find the Ruger Super Redhawk a little heavy, though that weight does help with recoil. Have you guys compared it to the Taurus 941? That one’s quite light and still packs a punch in .22 Hornet.
The Taurus is indeed lighter, but I want that build quality that Ruger offers. It just feels like it lasts longer, you know? Plus, the warranty on the Ruger is fantastic!
I really appreciate the trigger on the Ruger Super Redhawk. It’s smooth and sends rounds downrange accurately. Have you all had any issues with trigger pull on other models?
Never had issues with the trigger on my Redhawk, but the 617’s is pretty good too. Feels just as responsive and has a nice break when you squeeze. Has anyone changed out their grips?
I recently swapped my grips on the Super Redhawk and it’s felt more comfortable to shoot. What do you all think about customization options compared to Taurus? Are they similarly flexible?
I’ve noticed more aftermarket options for the Ruger. However, Taurus often offers a great value for the price. How many of you prioritize value over customization?
