What's the Best Doe Bleat Call Out There?

For me, evenings seem to be more successful. The deer seem to be more active and curious.

I think the doe bleat call is underrated! It can be really effective if used right. Has anyone ever tried mixing it with a fawn bleat?

I’ve tried that! It’s a great tactic for attracting both does and bucks, especially during the rut.

That’s a solid point, but does anyone else find doe bleats can either attract too many unwanted deer sometimes? It’s a mixed bag.

Haha, totally! Sometimes you end up with a whole party of deer instead of the one big buck you’re after. It can be a hilarious mess!

I’ve tried a few doe bleat calls, and my favorite is the Primos Perfect Peach. The sound quality is fantastic, and it has held up well in the field. Highly recommend it!

That’s great to hear, James! I’ve been using the Quaker Boy Doe Bleat, and it’s super easy to use. The sound is pretty realistic too!

I’ve had my eye on the Flextone Doe Bleat. Anyone have thoughts on its durability? I’ve read mixed reviews.

The Flextone has been pretty durable for me, Jacob. But I did have a friend who lost the diaphragm after a few hunts.

I’ve used the Tink’s Bleat call for years. It’s super portable and has a great sound. Plus, it fits in my pocket!

That’s a plus! I prefer something lightweight too, sometimes I forget I even have it on me during a long trek.

Does anyone have advice on how to replicate the sound of a distressed doe? I feel like that’s what gets the bucks really interested.

Great question, Ygarcia! From my experience, you can try adjusting the pitch on your call by blowing softer or harder. It mimics the distress call more effectively.

I’ve used the Primos call too, but honestly, I’m not a huge fan. I found it a bit hard to get the right tone consistently, unlike others seem to suggest.

I get your point, Frank. I think it comes down to practice, but I totally understand why you might feel that way.

I can’t believe how much variation there is among calls. It’s like trying to pick a favorite flavor of ice cream! What’s next, deer on a diet? LOL!

That’s so true! Reflecting on all the feedback, I think it’s worth trying a few before settling on one. Every hunter has their own unique preferences!
