Looking for Insights: Mossberg Persuader 500 Review

Has anyone tried the Magpul forend? I’ve heard it has a nice grip and is lightweight. Ease of use is so important.

I can vouch for the Magpul forend! It’s super ergonomic and makes rapid firing a breeze.

I recently added a tactical light to my Persuader. It has dramatically enhanced my home defense setup. You can find some good budget options too.

Definitely a smart move! I’m curious, which light did you choose?

I went with the Streamlight TLR-6. It fits perfectly and is bright enough for home use.

These upgrades sound great! But can I just say, isn’t the name ‘Persuader’ a bit amusing? Like, it just sounds intimidating!

Haha! I know, right? Makes you feel like you’re negotiating life or death! But on a serious note, the name does reflect its purpose well.

Does anyone have thoughts on recoil pads? I’m considering upgrading, but I want to know if it’s worth it.

I installed a Limbsaver pad and it made a world of difference! Less fatigue during longer sessions.

Don’t forget about sling attachments! They seem small, but they make a huge difference in handling and transport.

For sure! It’s all about making your firearm work for you, right?

I’ve been thinking of getting a different type of mag tube. Any advice?

I upgraded to a +2 extension. It’s great for those extra shells without compromising handling.

I’ve been using the Mossberg Persuader 500 for a while now, and I must say it’s a solid option for home defense. The price point is quite attractive compared to other shotguns like the Remington 870.

That’s a great point! The Remington is a bit pricier, but some users swear by its reliability. Does anyone have thoughts on this?

In terms of features, the Mossberg’s ambidextrous safety is a huge plus. I found the comfort of use really surpasses some of its competitors!

I agree with mhaney about the ambidextrous safety. It’s one of the reasons I chose the Persuader 500 over others. Plus, it feels well-balanced in hand.

How does the weight of the Mossberg compare to something like the Benelli M2? I’m curious about mobility during use.

The Mossberg is definitely heavier than the Benelli, but that added weight can help reduce recoil. It really depends on what you’re using it for.

I find it interesting how the Persuader 500, being a pump-action, stacks against semi-autos. Is the manual action a bonus or a drawback in defensive situations?
