Does Walmart Still Sell Shotguns?

For hunting, I’d suggest looking at Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shops. They often have a bigger selection and sometimes have deals you won’t find at Walmart!

Cabela’s is great, but don’t forget about Academy Sports + Outdoors! They often have similar prices with really good stock.

I’m really curious about the quality differences. Anyone had issues with a shotgun bought at Walmart versus a specialty store?

I bought a Remington 870 at Walmart once, and while it was initially solid, I had a few jams after a month. Bought another one from a local shop, and it has been flawless. Just my experience though!

I’ve heard others mention issues similar to yours with Walmart guns. That’s concerning because you’re basically relying on that purchase for safety.

It’s a mixed bag. I bought a shotgun from Walmart just for fun, and it shot just fine! Prices are great for the casual user. But if you’re serious, I’d definitely recommend going elsewhere.

So, if I’m just getting into shotguns and don’t want to break the bank, is Walmart a good place to start?

Absolutely! Just be aware that it’s not the best for serious enthusiasts. Take your time, do some research, and if you can, test fire before you buy!
