Best Sling Mount Options for Marlin 336?

I prefer to use quick detach sling mounts for versatility. It makes switching out slings easy when you want to change things up!

You’ll definitely need a drill and some bits, but a torque wrench can also be useful for tightening. Don’t forget about safety glasses too!

I’ve used a couple of different slings, but I always come back to a good leather one; they look great on the Marlin 336! Plus, they are super durable.

Does anyone know where to find good replacement mounts if the factory ones don’t work out? I’m hoping to upgrade my current setup.

Check out online retailers like Brownells or MidwayUSA! They often have a variety of options to choose from.

I think the best sling is the one that feels right for you. It’s all about personal preference! Just make sure it’s functional for your needs.

Just remember, if you mess it up, you can always forward your complaints to a support group! Ha! But really, don’t rush the installation; take your time.

For the Marlin 336, I highly recommend the Blue Force Gear Vickers Sling. It’s durable, adjustable, and very comfortable for long days in the field.

I second that! The Vickers Sling’s material really holds up in tough conditions. Plus, it’s easy to adjust on the fly.

I prefer the Magpul MS3 Sling. It’s versatile and can easily be switched from two-point to single-point mode. Great for hunting!

I’ve heard the same about the MS3! But how does it perform in snowy conditions? Anyone tested it?

I’ve used the MS3 in the snow, and it held up well! Just make sure to keep it clean from ice build-up.

I’ve got a simple cotton sling for my Marlin, and it’s surprisingly comfortable. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done!

Sometimes simple is best! Do you find it’s adjustable enough for various shooting positions?

Absolutely, it has ample adjustability. I can easily switch from standing to sitting without any hassle.

What about the Tactical Link QD Sling? I’ve heard mixed reviews on comfort versus performance.

I think it’s great for quick adjustments, but I also hear it can feel a bit rough on bare skin. Has anyone experienced that?

The Tactical Link has some sharp edges if not properly adjusted, but otherwise, it performs well in the field. Just make sure you’re wearing a shirt!

You know, it’s funny. I once wore a tank top while using it… not my greatest idea! But hey, I survived to tell the tale.

Every sling has pros and cons. Just make sure whatever you choose works for your specific needs and shooting style. Happy shooting, everyone!
