Anyone Modified a Rem 700 for .338 Lapua? Seeking Tips!

One thing I’ve noticed is that the trigger can make or break your shooting experience. Upgrading to a Timney trigger makes a world of difference!

Agreed! My groups tightened up significantly after I made that switch. It’s a great upgrade.

So many options! It can get overwhelming, but all these upgrades can truly enhance your performance with the .338 Lapua. Take your time and choose what fits your needs best.

I recently started reloading for my Rem 700 in .338 Lapua. For bullet selection, I’ve had great results with the Berger 250 gr. Hybrid. It really works well for long-range precision.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve also heard that the Hornady ELD-X bullets can be good. Anyone tried those?

When it comes to powder, I would recommend H1000 or Retumbo for .338 Lapua. They provide excellent velocities and are very consistent.

Great suggestions! What about primers? I’ve heard that Federal 215M is a popular choice.

Absolutely! The Federal 215M or CCI 250 are both excellent options for the .338 Lapua. They help achieve reliable ignition.

Remember, load development can be a bit tedious. Definitely take your time and work up loads carefully. It’s all about safety and accuracy.

So true! I’m thinking of starting slow with some factory ammunition. Suggestions for good factory loads?

If you’re looking for factory ammunition, I’ve had success with the Lapua Scenar loads. They’re pricey, but great for accuracy.

Those do get rave reviews! How do they perform in terms of recoil? I’m a bit recoil-sensitive.

Well, the .338 Lapua doesn’t hold back on recoil, regardless of the ammo. But with a good muzzle brake, it helps to manage it considerably. Make sure to get a good one!
