Anyone have the ultimate RCBS bullet molds chart?

I love how user-friendly RCBS molds are. They really seem to have thought about the user experience, especially with their easy-to-use handles compared to others like Lee which can be a bit clunky.

Yeah, I think that’s a very important point! User-friendliness can make or break a mold. Anyone else find this to be a deal breaker?

That’s a sentiment I share. I feel like investing in a quality mold saves more money in the long run.

I’ve tried a few brands, but I keep coming back to RCBS! They just handle well and provide good consistency in my casting. Plus, the reliability makes them worth the investment.

I wonder how RCBS molds fare in longevity compared to others? I’ve heard they outlast many competitors but I would love to see extensive comparisons.

Anyone ever had a significant issue with an RCBS mold? I’ve been lucky, but I do hear that some experienced significant wear after heavy use.

That’s concerning! I think it depends more on the specific model and how it’s maintained. Regular care can extend the lifespan.

What’s your guys’ take on the customer service from RCBS? I had a good experience with a replacement once for a defective mold. It made me a loyal customer!

Nice to hear! Customer service can be a game changer. Not all brands treat their customers well.

I’ve been looking for a comprehensive RCBS bullet molds chart too! A lot of folks rave about the quality of these molds. Best practices I’ve found include keeping them clean and oiled to prevent rust.

Absolutely! I also recommend preheating the molds before use. It really helps the metal flow and results in better bullets.

I agree with csmith! Preheating is crucial, but I’ve also had issues with mold alignment. Make sure your mold halves are properly aligned before pouring.

Great point, burnsandrew! I sometimes use a lighter to burn off any stubborn residue before pouring, too. It’s a quick fix that has worked for me.

I’ve faced alignment issues too, but I found that tightening the screws can make a difference. Regular checks save a lot of trouble!

Keeping a checklist of these maintenance tips can be priceless! I might actually create a visual chart of my own, inspired by everyone here.

Have you tried the RCBS website? They have an updated catalog that lists all their molds and specifications.

I’ve been using RCBS molds for years and they’re fantastic! Just remember to never force a bullet out of the mold; if it doesn’t want to come out, it’s probably not ready.

That’s a great reminder! I learned that the hard way once—damaged my favorite mold by being too impatient!

Lol, patience is key! Sometimes I wonder if molds have feelings. Maybe they just want to ensure we’re doing it right? :joy:

Well, if they do have feelings, they certainly don’t like mold release spray! I stick with graphite.
