What are the best pistols for concealed carry in 2024?

I’m looking to invest in a new pistol for concealed carry in 2024 and would love to hear your recommendations! I’m particularly interested in options that are compact, lightweight, and effective for self-defense, especially since I often find myself hiking and camping in more remote areas.

Key Considerations

Here are some of the features I’m focused on:

  • Size & Weight: Since I’ll be carrying it during outdoor activities, I want something that won’t weigh me down.
  • Capacity: I’m curious about the balance between size and magazine capacity – what do you all think?
  • Reliability: This is obviously crucial for a defensive tool. I’d love to know which brands/models you’ve found to be most dependable.
  • Ease of Use: Particularly for those who may not have a lot of experience, what models do you think are user-friendly?

Suggestions Wanted

If you have personal experience with specific models or can share expert reviews, that would be super helpful! Also, what features do you think enhance a pistol’s suitability for concealed carry in outdoor scenarios?

Let’s hear your thoughts!

For 2024, I’d recommend checking out the Sig Sauer P365. It’s compact, has a great trigger, and many users rave about its reliability for concealed carry.

I’ve heard great things about the Glock 43X too! It’s slightly larger, but the capacity is a real bonus for concealed carry.

I’ve been using the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus for a while now. Its slim profile makes it easy to conceal, and the added capacity is a big plus!

I second that! The Shield Plus has a nice balance of size and firepower.

I’m curious if anyone has tried the Springfield Hellcat? I’ve heard mixed reviews. It seems small but packs quite a punch.

I have one, and I love it! It’s really accurate for its size, and the capacity is amazing. Just be sure to get a quality holster.

Don’t forget the Ruger LCP II! For pocket carry, it’s tough to beat its size and ease of use.

True, but it lacks a safety which could be a concern for some.

I actually prefer the Taurus GX4. It’s affordable and has a surprising amount of features for the price. Anyone else like it?

I’ve had a good experience with Taurus in the past. The GX4 is definitely on my shortlist!

Remember to think about your local laws about concealed carry! Sometimes the best pistol is the one that’s easiest for you to carry legally.

That’s a great point! The best pistol doesn’t matter if it’s not legal where you live.

What about the Beretta PX4 Storm? It has a rotating barrel that helps with recoil. Great for first-time users!

The PX4 is nice, but I’ve heard it’s bulkier than other options mentioned. Is it a good choice for concealed carry?

If you’re looking for humor, just remember: A heavy pistol is great for self-defense… unless you drop it on your toe!

Haha! That’s true! But seriously, the best gun is the one you can carry comfortably, no matter how it looks.

I’m curious about the compact models available for 2024. I’ve heard great things about the Sig P365, but what are others using for deep concealment?

I just picked up the Glock 43X, and it’s been fantastic for concealment. What holster do you use with your P365?

Holsters are key! I recommend appendix carry, as it allows for quick access without compromising concealment. Just make sure to practice drawing safely.
