Thoughts on the Kimber Super Carry Ultra for Outdoor Use?

You might be right. But for someone just starting out, the price difference is huge. Is there a sweet spot for price vs. performance among these compacts?

Definitely! The SIG P238 offers great performance in a compact design without breaking the bank, making it a great starter pistol. It might not be a 1911, but it’s a good entry option.

I appreciate the suggestions! I do enjoy the classic 1911 feel, so maybe I should just save up for the Kimber after all!

It’s a classic for a reason! Just make sure to test one out before you buy to make sure it feels right in your hands.

I’ve been considering some grip enhancements for my Kimber Super Carry Ultra. The rubberized grips really improve the handling, especially for outdoor use. Anyone else have thoughts?

I completely agree! I added a set of custom wood grips, and they not only feel great but look fantastic too. It adds a real personal touch.

Don’t forget about sights! Upgrading to night sights can be a game-changer if you’re heading out in low light. The Kimber’s stock sights are okay, but I’ve found Trijicon’s to be exceptional.

That’s a solid point! The Kimber Super Carry Ultra’s sight options definitely make a difference. I went with fiber optics for better visibility during the day.

What about holsters? I’ve been on the hunt for a good outdoor holster that’s both secure and accessible. Any recommendations?

I really like the Kydex holsters for outdoor use. They provide great retention and are weather-resistant. Just ensure it’s compatible with the Super Carry Ultra!

I’m curious if anyone’s experimented with trigger upgrades? I’ve heard mixed reviews; some love the crispness after the upgrade, while others say it can negatively affect reliability.

I’ve had no issues with my trigger upgrade! The Kimber Super Carry Ultra improved dramatically for precision shooting after the modification. Just make sure you go with a reputable brand.

Has anyone thought about a compensator? It seems overkill for the Super Carry Ultra, but it could help with muzzle rise. Or am I just going nuts here?

Haha, I think you might be overthinking it! The Ultra is designed for concealment and practicality. A compensator could disrupt that.
